About the work作品介绍

Beginning with the end of a close relationship and the cracked landscape of a former salt lake, the work considers whether love, loss, and environmental change might all be understood as forms of “mercy” unfolding over time. A shell-like shelter appears to offer safety yet remains vulnerable to external forces, allowing protection and precarity to coexist within the same dwelling.

The work places an emotional rupture beside saline land that was once covered by water and is now dry and cracked. The shell offers a contradictory image of shelter: it can contain a body while remaining vulnerable to the ocean, predation, and time. Fabric, wood, rock, and modelled forms treat “home” as a temporary place of rest rather than a permanently secure space.
