Mycelium Ocean

Mycelium Ocean grew from the artist’s frequent movement between Europe and Asia. Similar urban skylines in London and Shenzhen prompted questions about identity, globalisation, and the replication of space. Bringing together water, mycelium, transport, and information networks, the work imagines a connection that crosses territories and grows quietly beneath the surface.

《菌丝海》源于艺术家在欧洲与亚洲之间频繁移动的经验。伦敦与深圳近似的城市天际线触发了关于身份、全球化和空间复制的思考。作品把水、菌丝、交通与信息网络并置，想象一种跨越地域、在地表之下悄然生长的连接。

In the winter of 2024, the artist looked through the mist from the Thames towards the Isle of Dogs and found that its high-rise buildings appeared almost interchangeable with those of Houhai Technology Park in Shenzhen. Rather than producing simple nostalgia, the encounter caused two distant cities to overlap in memory. Mycelium Ocean consequently treats cities as structures proliferating across global networks, and the individual as a composite shaped by family, travel, politics, and local culture.

2024 年冬天，艺术家在泰晤士河畔透过雾气望向 Isle of Dogs，发现对岸高层建筑与深圳南山后海科技园在视觉上近乎重合。这一经验并非简单唤起乡愁，而是使两个相距遥远的城市在记忆中彼此覆盖。《菌丝海》由此把城市理解为沿全球网络快速增殖的结构，也把个人理解为被家庭、旅行、政治与地方文化共同作用的复合体。
